Recently, the first 600 ℃ high-temperature liquid lead bismuth alloy transmission shield pump in China, designed by Dr. Cheng Xiaorui of the school of energy of Lanzhou University of technology and manufactured by Dalian Sifang electric pump Co., Ltd., has been successfully developed. It has been delivered to the Institute of modern physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for test operation, and the relevant technical indicators fully meet the requirements. The successful development of the product fills the gap in China.
Lead bismuth alloy, also known as low temperature alloy, or low melting point alloy, or fusible alloy. It is mainly composed of lead and bismuth with low melting point, and other metals are added to adjust the melting point of the alloy. The fourth generation advanced nuclear power system lead based fast reactor is a fast neutron reactor with molten metal lead or lead bismuth alloy as coolant. It adopts closed fuel cycle and can operate under normal pressure and high temperature. Lead based fast reactor has excellent fuel conversion capacity, which can effectively improve the utilization rate of uranium and thorium resources and greatly improve the sustainability of fuel. It can also be used to incinerate long-lived actinides in the spent fuel of existing light water reactor, so as to make cleaner use of nuclear energy. High temperature liquid lead bismuth alloy transfer pump is the key core equipment of the primary circuit of a new miniaturized nuclear reactor.
